1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
Depending on how you use CDL Pass, you may voluntarily provide:
- Account and contact information: such as your name, email address, and phone number.
- Driver profile / job-matching information: such as date of birth, CDL license class and license date, job search status, preferred operation areas (e.g., local, regional, OTR), employment type preferences, location fields used for job search (e.g., state and city), pay expectation preferences, benefit priorities, lifestyle preferences you choose to share, and qualification-related responses you submit in the driver profile (such as moving violations, preventable accidents, and similar fields presented in the app).
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit. We do not independently verify
employment history, driving records, or criminal history through CDL Pass unless we expressly
tell you otherwise in a separate notice or flow.
1.2 Information collected automatically
We may collect certain information automatically to operate and improve the Service, including:
- Device and app information: such as device type, operating system, app version, and a device identifier used to associate your profile with your device for support and service delivery.
- Diagnostics: crash and error reports (for example, via Firebase Crashlytics) to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
- Advertising: our free/ad-supported experiences may use advertising SDKs (for example, Google AdMob) that collect identifiers and usage data as described by the ad provider's policies.
1.3 Job alert emails (if you opt in)
If you enable job alerts or similar email features, we may use your email address and job preferences
to send you messages about opportunities. Operational emails may be sent from
info@cdlpassusa.com (or a subdomain we configure).
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including study tools, job search features, and related functionality).
- Personalize content and job-related recommendations where applicable.
- Communicate with you about the Service, including support and important notices.
- Protect the security and integrity of the Service, detect fraud or abuse, and comply with law.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. How We Store Information
- On-device storage: portions of your profile and preferences may be stored locally on your device so the app can function offline or reduce network use.
- Server storage / sync: if you choose to share your driver profile with employers or hiring partners (as described in the in-app consent and disclosure), we may transmit and store your profile information on systems we or our service providers operate so that employers can discover and contact you about opportunities. The scope of sharing is limited to what you authorize in the app.
If you withdraw consent or delete your profile where the app provides that option, we will stop
new sharing and take reasonable steps to process deletion requests, subject to legal retention
requirements.
4. When We Share Information
4.1 With your direction (employer / hiring partner sharing)
When you opt in through the driver profile flow, we may share your profile information with
employers, recruiters, or hiring partners so they can evaluate fit and contact
you about commercial driving opportunities. Those parties may handle your information under their
own privacy policies once it is received.
CDL Pass USA is not an employer and does not guarantee employment. Hiring
decisions, credentialing, background checks, and onboarding are handled by third parties under
their own policies and applicable law.
4.2 Service providers
We may share information with vendors who help us run the Service (for example, hosting,
analytics, crash reporting, email delivery, advertising). They are permitted to use the
information only to provide services to us.
4.3 Legal and safety
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to: comply
with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental requests; enforce our policies or investigate
potential violations; detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or protect
the rights, property, or safety of CDL Pass USA, our users, or the public.
4.4 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of
assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will take reasonable steps
to require the successor to honor this Privacy Policy or notify you of changes.
5. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may integrate third-party SDKs and services. Their collection and use of information
are governed by their respective policies:
The Service may also contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their
content or privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
If you use our websites, we and our partners may use cookies and similar technologies for
functionality, analytics, and advertising, consistent with your browser settings and applicable
law. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the
Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Mobile apps may use analogous technologies through SDKs.
7. Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No method of
transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain information as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations,
resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary based on the type of data
and legal requirements.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain
processing of your personal information, or to object to certain uses. You can contact us at
info@cdlpassusa.com to submit requests. We may need
to verify your identity before responding.
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA (including
rights to know, delete, and opt out of certain "sales" or "sharing" as defined by law). We do
not "sell" personal information in the traditional sense; however, certain advertising uses may
be considered "sharing" under California law. You may use industry opt-out tools where applicable
and adjust device settings for ad tracking.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13. CDL-related job features are intended for users who can
legally hold a commercial driver's license. If you believe we have collected information from
a child under 13, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International Users
CDL Pass USA is based in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United
States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States where privacy
laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
